Fernando Dewar, director of the Septeto Santiaguero, expressed the joy of its members for the seventh nomination to the Latin Grammy, which is added today to its two awards and the inclusion in the Anglo-Saxon version.

Speaking from Europe, where the group performs in several countries, he devoted the result of the phonogram Y sigo pa’lante to the musical heritage of Santiago de Cuba, the creative city where they have been nurtured artistically for almost 30 years.

He extended his gratitude to those who collaborated with this production and those who have also collaborated in previous ones, in addition to expressing his will to continue defending that legacy that has brought so much success to the group.

Dewar announced that they will soon return to their usual stages and considered that this nomination came at a very important moment, when they had finished the European tour. He also said that precisely Y sigo pa’lante, will go ahead with the decision to continue without stopping in the defense of traditional Cuban music.

He pointed out that the album includes anthological pieces of that trajectory, some with new versions and more current sonorities, in correspondence with the current times and the tastes of the public, identified with a very particular line of interpreting those popular rhythms.
